LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Cards will be down a player when Miami comes to town.
Head coach Bobby Petrino says wide receiver DeVante Parker will miss six to eight weeks with a broken bone in his left foot. Petrino says the receiving corps are deep enough to fill the gap but says he would like to get Parker back as quickly as possible.
Petrino also named sophomore Will Gardner the starting quarterback for the season opener.
He says this week will be longer than usual and the emphasis will be on making sure the team is at peak performance Monday night. The Cards and Hurricanes kick off 8 p.m. Monday night.
