One-Year-Old Overdoses On Heroin In Florida; Parents Arrested

Two individuals in Palm Beach County are charged following an overdose in a 1-year-old child in suburban West Palm Beach earlier this year.

It took two doses of Narcan to "revive the child back to life" in July, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reports.

Charlie Hagan and Joseph Critelli, who have been confirmed as bring the child's parents, now face charges of child neglect.

According to a redacted arrest report, Hagan was in the hospital just days before the baby girl overdosed for a nearly-fatal heroin overdose herself.

Hagan told deputies that she was sleeping when the incident happened in July, and said the baby was with Critelli in another room. Hagan said both of them noticed the baby “acting fussy,” when she woke up to talk to Critelli, and that the two decided the baby was going to be fed and put down for a nap.

Later, Hagan went to check on the baby and realized she wasn't breathing correctly, the arrest report said.
