Halsey Gushes Over The Maine's Cover Of 'Without Me'

2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards – Show

Halsey's song "Without Me" is her first No. 1 single as a lead artist, but the track just reached another milestone that the pop star can't believe is true: It got covered by one of her all-time favorite bands, The Maine.

The 24-year-old is an emo kid at heart. She loves Panic! At The Disco and has been open about being bullied in high school for her taste in music. But she persevered, all the while embracing who she really is instead of fitting herself into a mold. Her hard work has paid off, and on Thursday (March 14), The Maine shared a beautifully haunting rendition of her hit single, complete with a string section.

Naturally, Halsey freaked out when she saw the performance and shared her gratitude on Twitter.

"One of my favorite bands of all time @themaine covered Without Me and I’m trying to figure out where within the giant crack in the simulation I was given this blessing," she wrote.

The pop punk band responded to her gushing message with kind words of their own: "What a lovely tune. Emo just like us. Hope we didn’t ruin it for too many people. Be well!!"
