Six people were shot at a Houston after-hours nightclub early Sunday (March 23). The incident occurred around 3 a.m. at a sports bar on Hillcroft Avenue, according to Assistant Chief James Skelton of the Houston Police Department.

Police responded to reports of multiple people shot at the club, which was still serving drinks past the city's mandated closing time of 2 a.m. Three victims were transported to hospitals by the Houston Fire Department, while three others arrived in private vehicles. Skelton said that four of the victims were in critical condition.

Authorities are searching for two suspects believed to be involved in the shooting. They were last seen in a black Toyota Camry or Corolla. Skelton noted that the shooting appears to have been an isolated attack, with all victims being male and the shots fired from outside the bar. Officials shared surveillance photos of the suspects on X and asked the public for help identifying them.

A separate shooting at another after-hours nightclub left one man dead.

The incidents highlight ongoing concerns about after-hours clubs in Houston, which police say contribute to crime, including DUIs and assaults. Skelton emphasized that the Houston Police Department is actively working to shut down these establishments to reduce such incidents.

"Establishments like this that harbor within our city can contribute to crime," Skelton said. "We are targeting these locations and we're going to shut them down."
