Costco has issued a recall for over 3,300 pounds of Ahi Tuna Wasabi Poke sold under its Kirkland Signature brand due to potential listeria contamination. The recall was announced by Western United Fish Company, also known as Annasea Foods Group, after their green onion supplier reported a positive test result for listeria monocytogenes on September 17.

The affected product, packaged in clear plastic clamshell containers, was available in the deli section of Costco Warehouse stores across more than 30 states. It carries the item number 17193, with a pack date of September 18, 2025, and a sell-by date of September 22, 2025. The recall was conducted with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that poses significant health risks, particularly to older adults, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea. In severe cases, it can lead to more serious complications, including death.

Western United Fish Company is collaborating with their green onion supplier to identify the root cause of the contamination. Customers who purchased the affected product are advised to discard it and visit Costco for a refund.

For further information, consumers can contact Annasea Foods Group at 425-558-7809 or email info@annasea.com. Anyone experiencing symptoms after consuming the product should seek medical attention.

The FDA emphasizes the importance of consumers in high-risk categories seeking medical care if they experience flu-like symptoms within two months of consuming contaminated food.
